In this new contemporary from YA star Kasie West, a girl who wins the lottery learns that money can cause more problems than it solves, especially when love comes into the picture.
Maddie doesn’t believe in luck. She’s all about hard work and planning ahead. But one night, on a whim, she buys a lottery ticket. And then, to her astonishment —
In a flash, Maddie’s life is unrecognizable. No more stressing about college scholarships. Suddenly, she’s talking about renting a yacht. And being in the spotlight at school is fun… until rumors start flying, and random people ask her for loans. Now, Maddie isn’t sure who she can trust.
Except for Seth Nguyen, her funny, charming coworker at the local zoo. Seth doesn’t seem aware of Maddie’s big news. And, for some reason, she doesn’t want to tell him. But what will happen if he learns her secret?
With tons of humor and heart, Kasie West delivers a million-dollar tale of winning, losing, and falling in love.
FIRST OF ALL: SETH NGUYEN. ❤
Lucky in Love is the first Kasie West book I’ve read. And I’m swooning over Seth Nguyen. ❤
SETH IS THE BEST. I LOVE THIS BOOK BECAUSE OF SETH.
Watch out for Maddy and Leth (nope, not typos) in the story. They might make you feel giddy.
Did I mention Seth Nguyen?
Sorry, it’s just that almost everything I highlighted in this book involved Seth. It’s like I wouldn’t have enjoyed reading it without Seth.
Maybe it’s because I didn’t really feel Maddie’s character. I loved her friends more than her. But I do appreciate how much she loved her family. So much that she held back on her dreams because of them.
The lottery win is a table-turner. It gave Maddie a new set of cards to play in the game of life. It opened a lot of doors for her. But the opportunities came with problems.
Maddie spent a lot of money because she had too much of it at the moment. Her academic performance got affected. She gained instant popularity, and it came to the point when she didn’t know who to trust anymore. It must be really overwhelming to be in her place.
Good thing she has great friends. And a certain someone named Seth. 🙂
I’m looking forward to reading more Kasie West books because this one really made me swoon and I’m curious about the books I haven’t read yet. If you have a favorite Kasie West book, please share it with me!
Lucky in Love is a charming story of learning what really matters in life when all the glitz and glamour fade away.
