My thoughts:

I have been waiting for Ate Dawn’s secret *thing* for so long and when I found out it’s a poetry book, I screamed internally.

I MEAN

THE TITLE

THE COVER

AAAAHHHH!

Then she started posting teasers and I thought of Lang Leav.

And I love Lang Leav.

At first I didn’t want to pre-order the e-book on Amazon because I really wanted to read the book once the print copy is out. BUT it would take long, and I couldn’t wait so I finally clicked the pre-order button.

You are the dream
But I’ve had wake up calls

I kept on tapping my Kindle for the next page, the next poem, and I was at the Epilogue before I knew it.

While I cannot relate to all of the poems, I just stop once I do find pieces “written for me” – I stop to take a moment, so I can read the poem again and let my heart bleed.

Pieces I like:

  • AND NOW I’M RUINED
  • CONFESSION
  • METAMORPHOSIS
  • RESOLVE
  • NORTHERN STAR
  • SUSTENANCE
  • THE FEAR
  • BOTH FEET ON SHORE
  • THE WORLD IS OUR SOUVENIR
  • LESSON
  • CROOKED

And my favorite: EPILOGUE.

The Last Time I’ll Write About You is a collection of poems that tell a story so close to my heart. Parts of my story (as in my super real life story) are in there – and while reading the poems reminded me of the pain I went through, I did find what I was looking for. My favorite piece in this book showed me the words I was desperately searching for – words that would make the end real.

This is for those who gave love a chance and got hurt.

This is for those who gave love a chance and ended up broken.

This is for those gave love a chance-

-and tried again.

Finding a piece of yourself within the pages of a book is one of the most beautiful things you’ll ever feel. Because sometimes, the words we need bring us to meet the people we’ll love.

Final Rating: 5/5
