Goodreads Summary:

Taylor Simmons is screwed.

Things were hard enough when her single-minded dedication to her studies earned her the reputation of being an Ice Queen, but after getting drunk at a party and waking up next to bad boy surfer Evan McKinley, the entire school seems intent on tearing Taylor down with mockery and gossip.

Desperate to salvage her reputation, Taylor persuades Evan to pretend they’re in a serious romantic relationship. After all, it’s better to be the girl who tames the wild surfer than just another notch on his surfboard.

Readers will be ready to sign their own love contract after reading this fun and addicting contemporary YA romance.

My thoughts:

The first scene reminded me of Boomerang by Noelle August – the girl wakes up barely remembering what happened the night before, and it is only towards the end that the details are revealed. And then the contract reminded me of No Love Allowed by Kate Evangelista – only this time, it’s the girl who offered a deal.

I had fun reading Taylor’s POV because we almost have the same speaking style. Whenever she freaks out, I could almost hear myself saying the same thing. But Evan’s POV is more than fun – it’s mesmerizing.

I guess I just love reading about how a guy sees the girl he loves. I love reading about what’s going in their minds when they’re with girls, especially when their intentions are true and their deeds romantic. ❤

The development of Taylor and Evan’s relationship is so adorable that I was rooting for them right from the start. There is another guy with potential, yes, but I couldn’t imagine Taylor ending up with someone else.

The story is mostly consistent with the feels – I keep on reading and reading because I anticipate the thrill that awaits. Jenn does know how to keep readers in suspense, then give them what they were actually hoping for at the right moment.

With characters you’ll grow to love, The Way to Game the Walk of Shame is a sweet treat sprinkled with giggles and topped with swoonworthy moments you’ll want to savor. ❤
