Goodreads Summary:

Riders. A new fantasy adventure from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Veronica Rossi.

For eighteen-year-old Gideon Blake, nothing but death can keep him from achieving his goal of becoming a U.S. Army Ranger. As it turns out, it does.

Recovering from the accident that most definitely killed him, Gideon finds himself with strange new powers and a bizarre cuff he can’t remove. His death has brought to life his real destiny. He has become War, one of the legendary four horsemen of the apocalypse.

Over the coming weeks, he and the other horsemen–Conquest, Famine, and Death–are brought together by a beautiful but frustratingly secretive girl to help save humanity from an ancient evil on the emergence.

They fail.

Now–bound, bloodied, and drugged–Gideon is interrogated by the authorities about his role in a battle that has become an international incident. If he stands any chance of saving his friends and the girl he’s fallen for–not to mention all of humankind–he needs to convince the skeptical government officials the world is in imminent danger.

But will anyone believe him?

First of all, I am so sorry for the abundance of uppercase letters in the post title – I’M JUST SO HAPPY BECAUSE IT’S THE DAY!!!

Six months ago, I finished reading Riders.

Two months ago, I posted my feels review.

Today, I can finally share my book review!

My thoughts:

Sixteen Reasons Why You Should #ReadRiders

  1. It’s written by Veronica Rossi.
  2. It features kick-ass horses…
  3. …paired with equally amazing horsemen, which means…
  4. …there are four book boyfriends. FOUR. ❤
  5. There’s a mention of the Philippines!!! 😀
  6. It has a very strong and mysterious heroine who happened to be the youngest of the squad.
  7. It will take you to Italy…
  8. …and Norway…
  9. …plus it pays tribute to Army Rangers.
  10. It’s magical…the powers of both the squad and the Kindred were REALLY cool…
  11. …which made the book action-packed.
  12. It ends in a cliffhanger…
  13. …which means there’ll be a second book, Seeker.
  14. I will love you if you read it.
  15. V will love you if you read it.
  16. There are four book boyfriends. (Oh, wait, I already said that. But hey, you have four different guys to choose from. G, Bas, Marcus, and Jode. I belong to #TeamGideon! <3)

There you have it. 16 reasons why you should run to read Riders.

V noted right from the start that Riders is unlike the Under the Never Sky series – and while we miss Aria, Perry, and the rest of the UTNS characters so much, we have to accept that the series has ended…and we shouldn’t look for UTNS in Riders.

Riders is a new book from V, a new chance for her readers to see a world that needs saving.

It brings together five people (G, Bas, Marcus, Jode, and Daryn) with different strengths and weaknesses, a team bound to a responsibility, forming an unlikely friendship along the way.

The sacrifices that needed to be done to protect the key mirror those of our soldiers, our heroes, putting their lives at risk for the sake of peace.

Twists and surprises…we love that, don’t we? 🙂 Someone’s about to lose a hand. I won’t tell if you should take that literally or figuratively. It’s a little teaser. 🙂

As for the FEELS, V did not give us a book boyfriend. She gave us four – and she did pretty well on making me feel the longing and the pain brought upon by the right love paired with wrong timing. Ah, how I miss reading those swoony parts. ❤

Reading the book was like getting on a horse, going on full speed as you feel the wind making you fly.

Four different horses. Four adventures with four book boyfriends wearing four cuffs that are more important than you can imagine. That’s four fours…sixteen!

Riders. One book that you should pick up right now.

Five stars with the burning need for Seeker.

Final Rating: 5/5

Don’t walk. Run to #ReadRiders.

  1. Riders is the first Veronica Rossi book I’ve read and it’s a really, really great book. Actually, I don’t know that It’s a series so I lost my sanity when I found out it’s going to have a sequel. Well, I’m thankful to this blog post ’cause it introduced me to V. Rossi especially to her books. Thank you so much! (P.S Can Bas be mine? hihi) 😀
