An Important Note: These reactions are shared by real people–and as a talk show would put it: The views and opinions of these people do not necessarily state or reflect my own.
How would you define book discrimination?
I don’t really know what book discrimination means but based on what I understand it’s basically judging a book by its cover/author/popularity.
How do you feel about it?
It’s kinda sad that some people won’t read a book because it’s not that well-known then read it ONLY when there’s a movie adaptation coming up.
What do you think is the cause of book discrimination?
I don’t know. Human nature, maybe? It’s in the nature of most people to strive to fit in. Hence, they only read what’s “in” and/or mainstream.
What would you do against it?
Share what I know (about certain books) to people who judge quickly.
Fill in the blanks. More people should read ________ by ________ because ________.
The 39 Clues (series) by various authors (like Rick Riordan, Peter Lerangis, Jude Watson, and etc.) because you can actually learn a lot from it– it’s not as “childish” as it may seem and it’s a fun read.
